Sheet Designer

The Sheet designer is a visual design window that lets you create your own sheet designs.

Once again it fairly simple and easy to use. To start the sheet designer select Layouts | Sheet Layouts from the main menu or Press Alt+L then S. The program displays a new window showing the default sheet design layout. You can either edit this design or create a new one. To change the design click on and drag the existing layout items. To add new items right-click the page background and select Add Textbox or Add GraphicBox.

Allboxes

Selecting: Click on a Text or Graphic box to select it or Press Ctrl + TAB to select the next box(Ctrl + Shift + TAB Selects the previous)

Moving: Move the pointer over the box until it changes to a hand shape then, left-click and drag the box to a new position or when selected use the arrow keys to move 1 pixel at a time.

Sizing: Move the pointer over the edges of the box until the cursor changes to a left-right or up-down arrow shape, then left-click and drag the sides of the box or when selected use Ctrl + Arrow keys to size the box

Editing: Shift Click a Textbox to Edit the text in place. Click on the background to save and hide the editor.

Copy and Paste: Right-click and select Copy to copy a box then right-click on the page background and select Paste.

Textbox Properties: Right-click a Textbox for a menu. (or press the Right-hand Windows Menu Key) The options are:

    Properties: Set the text for the Textbox, change the font and alignment (Left Right or centred)
    Font: Set the Font only.
    Draw Border: Draws a border around the Textbox when printed
    Remove Textbox: Deletes this Textbox from the design (there is no UNDO)
    Variable: Insert a variable name to print sold item specific detail when printed
    Copy: Copies this Textbox to a buffer.
    Cancel: Does nothing but close the menu

To change the text simply edit any text in the box. If the text is not a variable name it will be printed exactly as shown in the properties box. Click Finished when you are done editing and aligning the text.

GraphicBoxes:

When adding a Graphicbox the first action is to choose a graphic file either a Bitmap or a JPEG image can be used. The Graphic is initailly sized to 100x100 pixels. Right-click a Graphicbox for a menu, the options are:

    Change File: Allows you to select a new graphic file to print.
    Size to Graphic: Changes the size of the Graphic box to match the dimensions of the Graphic file.
    Draw Border: Draws a border around the Graphicbox when printed
    Remove Graphicbox: Deletes this Graphicbox from the design (there is no UNDO)
    Copy: Copies this Graphicbox to a buffer.
    Cancel: Does nothing but close the menu

Saving the design:

To save your design click the “Save Design” button or select File | Save or File | Save As. If the design is saved to the folder “Saved Labels” it will appear in the drop down list in the Options Dialog. If you save the design with the name “DEFAULT” it will be loaded into the designer each time you open the sheet designer window. If you delete or rename “DEFAULT” then you will get a empty page in the designer window
